French Documentary on Cod Soaking Causing Problems in Norway
A French TV documentary titled "Mollo sur le cabillaud" (Easy on the Cod) has sparked a marketing debate in Norway.
Cod is the second most popular fish in France, after salmon, and most of the cod eaten there is Norwegian cod sent to China for processing, and then imported back to Europe.
The problem, as usual, is the amount of undeclared water and tripolyphosphate added to increase the weight of the fillets.
