Florida Senators Push DOC to Include State for Aquaculture Opportunity Areas

Florida Senators Marco Rubio and Rick Scott asked U.S. Department of Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross to designate waters off the coast of Florida as one of the initial aquaculture opportunity areas detailed in the “Promoting American Seafood Competitiveness and Economic Growth” Executive Order signed by President Trump in early May.

“In pursuit of a more resilient domestic food supply chain, we hope you agree that Florida is a common-sense option for one of the first aquaculture opportunity areas under the Executive Order,” the senator’s letter to Ross read...
