Former Part-owner of New Bedford Processing Plant Gets Jail Time for Tax Evasion

A part-owner of a New Bedford-based seafood processing company was sentenced to three years in prison for tax evasion, a Special Agent from the Internal Revenue Service Criminal Investigation unit announced.

For over a decade, Billie R. Schofield attempted to evade federal income taxes, per court documents. Schofield partly owned and worked for Northern Pelagic LLC, a processing business.
